BUSINESS / EMPLOYMENT-BASED IMMIGRATION

Foreign companies and personnel who seek to employ, be employed or invest in the United States may apply for Business Visas. There are many specific requirements for different categories, making obtaining a visa a complex process.

Generally, foreign nationals may come to the United States in one of the two basic categories described below:

Permanent Residency Visas (“Green Cards”)

Permanent Resident status is symbolized to many people by the so-called "green card." Green cards allow foreign professionals or investors to live and work in the United States without time limitations. People who plan to stay in the US permanently may obtain green cards through employment or through investment in the United States.

       1. Through Employment
       2. Through Investment

Temporary Visas (Nonimmigrant Visas)

Temporary Business-based Visas allow companies and other institutions to employ foreign nationals for their US operations. A person on a Business Visa may be eligible to apply for permanent residency while engaging in temporary employment.
